The Graytrout Group, Inc. is a Dahlonega, GA, USA based performance management consulting firm. Created in 1989 by seasoned corporate executives, the name came from combining the last names of two partners. Our passion is helping companies achieve higher sales revenues, gross profits and bottom line profits through the use of practical, yet effective relationship management solutions. Our client base includes world-class companies in two distinctly different groups: General Industry and Financial Services Industry. These groups represent a range of clients in industry segments involved in satellite communication, polymers and colleges and universities, to bank holding companies, credit unions, and state banking associations. Senior Management BiosExperience, flexibility and integrity are required traits for all our partners. Our senior partners have hands-on experience in sales and marketing, supply chain management, and general management, actually having done what they consult, advise and teach. We are business people with real world experience. Below is a brief description of our senior partners.Betty J. Trout President and CEO Betty Trout is one of Graytrout’s original partners and is the "trout" in Graytrout. Her expertise includes customer relationship management, management consulting, and training design, skills she uses primarily with financial industry clients. Prior to Graytrout, she was in the automotive aftermarket at the manufacturing and distribution levels. Her last management position was Director of Advertising for the largest US distributor of automotive parts and accessories. During this time she was instrumental in beginning an industry-wide push for simplifying manufacturer reimbursement of local advertising dollars. Betty is a member of the American Society of Training of Development, the International Customer Service Association and the Institute of Management Consultants. She contributes regularly to banking publications and speaks at banking marketing conferences and CEO conferences. She is an active committee member in several state banking associations. Working closely with large bank holding companies, she provides solutions designed to increase deposits and fee structure and incentive programs that drive higher employee performance levels. She has also served on the faculty of several state banking schools conducting classes at various levels. A native Texan and graduate of the University of Houston, she is an avid football fan. She also loves hand spinning yarn on a spinning wheel and has started a cottage industry producing and distributing wool products. She is President of her local chapter of the Friends of the Library and is a member of the Lumpkin County Library Board. She lives with her husband, three dogs and a cat in Dahlonega, Georgia. Sam R. Johnson Managing Partner Sam Johnson joined Graytrout in 1990. His expertise includes negotiation strategy, strategic planning, and customer and supplier relationship management processes. Prior to Graytrout, he held senior management positions at several well established US based companies. Sam served as President and COO of a medium-sized $475 MM marketing group in the automotive aftermarket industry. Under his five year leadership the group vastly expanded its offering and tripled its size. A member of the Management Consultants Institute, Strategic Account Management Association, and the American Society of Training and Development, he is regularly published in industry trade publications and newsletters. He has served on several banking school faculties, and is a regular speaker at numerous client conferences and national meetings. He also serves on the board of several 501(c) (3) organizations. He currently consults with numerous Fortune 1000 clients in the distribution, manufacturing, banking, telecommunications, chemical, and aerospace industries. He is the author of Graytrout’s Strategic Planning, Account Relationship Strategy, Consultative Selling and Principles of Effective Negotiation programs. On a personal level, Sam graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi School of Business. Aside from his duties at Graytrout, his passions include wilderness fly fishing, hiking, playing his bagpipes, and performing with his church’s “Epiphany” ensemble. He and his wife live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Northeast Georgia. |
